9 Days- But who's counting, lol.

Hi my comrades in arms. I have reached 9 days as a non smoker. I can't say I haven't been tempted though. The most natural thing in the world has always been to light up. I have smoked because I have felt stress. I have smoked to celebrate. I have smoked because I have been bored, I have smoked, well for just about anything and everything. It's a different world out there without a fag. Sometimes it's not too comfortable but I am stepping out of my comfort zone by deciding not to light up today... and just for today.
I wish everyone on here well with this huge decision to quit and thank everyone once more for all the support and advice. Big Hugs. xxx

Well done poland, I do like your thinking, Im trying to do the same as you!

I have smoked for all the same reasons as you.... we can get through this as one big family

Im at 3 weeks tomorrow (not that Im counting either you know)

Have you noticed the time being so much slower? The past 3 weeks for me have felt like a year and its not that I havent been busy, the time just seems to be going slower lol

Yes I have noticed that I have more time on my hands. It makes you think about how much time we have used up in a day just puffing on a ciggy! Congratulations on 3 weeks! That is amazing !!!! xx :)

I dont think I like all the time on my hands though, makes me think 'oh I'll just go for a fag' and of course I cant which makes me a bit sad sometimes :(

Im really missing them at times like these when its only a 5 or 10 minutes till tea is ready and got nothing else to do! Just the habbit I suppose

I know what you mean. It isn't easy, but I have heard that it does get easier....can't wait for that! Meanwhile, we smell better, our hair shines more, no smokey breath and our senses are restoring themselves, so in the long run we should be happier and more to the point healthier (that's if you are not like me eating all the contents of my fridge-lol) I reckon it will be weight watchers for me next! :) :)

Well done both of you in staying so strong. I am on day 10 now and did not have too easy a day today. I am so glad to have found this site as the posts from you were just what I needed today. I too sometimes feel a wee bit of a loss and dont know what to do with myself (I have even done all the ironing) and will also have to sign up for weightwatchers as I dont think my hand has been away from my mouth recently. I think I found the first few days quite easy but finding it tough today.
However I too look better, smell better and taste things better mmmmmnnn maybe thats why I am eating so much :)

However we need to hang in there as it is soooooo worth it.

I think we all have our bad days/moments (me more so than anyone by the looks of all the moaning posts Ive done ) its fustration coz you want to do it but want this horrid feeling to be over with
For me its the afternoons, I try and just go and grt on with things and the grumpyness build up more and more until around 4pm and then its gone, and then Im fine, dont ceave much in the mornings/evenings which is fantastic, just need to overcome the 3 hours in afternoon

Mw and Ruth have been in the attic tonight and all I can say is OMG what a rubbish we have up there.
We have taken so much down to dump as well as sell at boot sale, Im gonna get back up there tomorrow again (afternoon) and sort out books/dvds and hopefully get rid of a pile of stuff and get some £'s for our holiday jars (kids wanting the money from their stuff)

Well done everyone for getting through another Monday

Tomorrow will be 28 days and it feels like 28 years [wish it was ] Am on Patches and gum but having been on other sites now feel I`m cheating as I havent done it cold turkey and still addicted to nicotine ---oh woe is me !! Still miss smoking. Any help or support would be welcome.

Hya cheesecake, don't feel like you're cheating, it's still really hard with NRT, I'm using Champix, which is supposed to take cravings away - I can safely say that in my humble opinion it's a lie and it doesn't work, my tongue is just hanging out at the moment. I've tried in the past with patches and lozenges but it never worked. You still have to be very strong which is why it feels like 28 years lol. I have to keep telling myself that I have lived with cigarettes for 33 years so to get over that in 12 months is a pretty incredible feat of the mind. Only another 11.5 months to go for me then. :o

Andrea ..WELL DONE !! i'm smiling for you,because i can imagine how chuffed you must be feeling..oh yeah sure sometimes youve flet tempted sometimes its tremendously hard,sometimes..but you stood strong in those sometimes and long may you :) :)
Cheesecake ..you too..Well done !! and not doing it cold turkey is NOT cheating..nothing that helps is cheating..you will get rid of the nico ,if at the moment you still need the nrt so be it,i think most do for 3 months or more even..BUT you are not putting cig to mouth ! I envy you and hope to join you very soon. WELL DONE GUYS ..you make us all proud ;) :) x
